The Craft's Meow September Release - Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of The Craft's Meow September Release! I hope you enjoyed yesterday's sneak peaks while perusing through all of the design team member's cards. Today's sneak peaks are for the stamp set Fun{tache}tic. This set is soooo vintage and cute!

I stamped my background panel with several sentiment stamps from the set. I just love the old world feel of the text. I also stamped an image from Life is a Carnival on the text background before adding the mustache that I had stamped, cut and colored in.

I added a border stamp from the Telegram stamp set for added color, as well as this cute label from Timeless Tags. I hope you like my card for today! Don't forget to check out the other TCM design team members. They have a lot of great sneak peaks for you too! :)

On a very happy note, my mom is doing well. My sisters informed me that she's talking more, and she smiles and laughs more often now. It's such a comfort to hear that. My mom's always been a strong and independent woman, it's really hard for all of us to see her this way. Hopefully she goes back to normal faster than what the doctors have predicted. :) Enjoy the rest of your week!

The Craft's Meow September Release - Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of The Craft's Meow September release. TCM has two new stamp sets for the month of September, and first up is Happy H'owl'oween. I cannot begin to tell you all how cute this stamp set is. It's also absolutely perfect since Halloween is just around the corner.

I wanted to combine cutesy and vintage for my sample today. So I chose some warm colors and inked EVERYTHING! lol! :) I made my own background patterned papers and stamped some of the images from the Happy H'owl'oween stamp set in there. I also stamped the fence several times, colored it in and cut it. I thought the eye balls were just so cute so I made it the focal point of the card.

I've also been practicing on how to use my zigzag scissors to cut straight. Does that make sense? hehe! I think I'm getting there. I really love how this card turned out. I hope you like it too and that it gives you just the right tickle. :)

Now don't forget to head on over to The Craft's Meow Blog for more inspiration from the TCM design team! And of course, let's not forget...the prizes...yay! :) Enjoy your week everyone! I'll see you again tomorrow for Day 2 of the TCM release.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 62

Wow! I don't know about you, but all the warnings about the imminent hurricane is just scaring me all the more! We live on the North shore of Long Island, NY and we don't usually get hit hard by hurricanes. I really hope it holds true this time, and that everyone on the East Coast is ready for Irene.

So before the lights go out (if they do), I wanted to share my WMSC 62 with all of you. This week's sketch is a bit tricky. I made two projects for it. One is a cutesy tag, and the other one is a card. Here's the sketch...

Here's my first submission. I tried to stay true to the sketch and made a tag for it. I wanted to use my L'il Buddies stamp set. I've been wanting that adorable sheep ever since I saw it. I also used Bitty Banners on the side. I went outside my style for this one, just to try it. I hope you'll enjoy it just that same. :)

I die cut the tag and made another one using a polka dotted patterned paper. I trimmed the sides of the patterned paper so that it would fall just inside the "stitches" of the tag.

Here's my second submission for this sketch. This time around, I tried to make a card using the sketch.

I placed the sketch on it's side. And used some Bitty Banners once more. One of the newest sets I just acquired is Back in the Saddle. I've always wanted to use it but was afraid that I couldn't incorporate it into my style. I've loved this set ever since I saw Sarah Martina Parker use it. I used it on my sentiment as well as a background for the tag.

I also stamped a doily from Dainty Doilies - Large Set on the upper left and lower right side of the background panel. I used tea dye ink on most of the edges of the panels to give it a more "cowboy" feel. There's something wrong with the settings of my camera. I haven't been getting clear shots lately. Hopefully, I can figure out how to fix it. :)

Anyway, enjoy your weekend and don't forget to visit the other Mischief Makers as well as the WMS Design Team for more inspiration.

CASE Study Challenge #54 - Signature Style

Ahhh yes! This week's CASE Study Challenge 54, for our Anniversary Month is ALL about our Signature Style. If you've been following my blog you already know that I love all things vintage and shabby chic. I'm into layering, flowers, ribbon, pearls, butterflies and just about anything else I can put in there. lol!

I just heard from my sisters that my mom's recent check up with her neuro-surgeon ended with wonderful news! He informed my family that he sees a full recovery in a month and a half. I was in such a good mood because of it that I decided to make a card for my mom.

I layered some patterned papers and sewed the edges. I used some images from my Telegram stamp set from The Craft's Meow on the patterned papers to add a vintage feel to it. I also inked the edges of the smaller panel. I used some of my favorite embellies, ribbons, flowers, buttons and some bling. The gorgeous label is from Very Vintage Greetings from WPlus9 Stamps.

Le Cirque and Very Vintage Greetings....CR84FN36

Well that was a very nice weekend...minus the thunder storm on Sunday night. I've been resting my back these past few days,  my doctor says I have a herniated disc. I haven't made a card since Friday and I thought I'd make it up today and made two cards. I used WPlus9 Stamps August release stamp sets for both my cards. It's such a bummer I wasn't able to be there during the release.

My first card is actually for CR84FN36 Color Challenge as well. And here's their wonderful color combination.

For this card, I used Le Cirque as well as the Le Cirque designer die. I haven't gotten the hang of stamping the scalloped oval yet. I believe I stamped it and die cut it 5 times. I finally gave up and picked the best out of the lot. LOL! ;P

I made a background out of the ticket stamps and made a window for my beautiful balancing lady. I also inked the edges and distressed some panels to make my card a little vintage.

My second card is for Card Patterns Sketch 128. It's waaaaay late for the challenge, but I loved the pretty sketch and decided to go with it. For this card, I used WPlus9 Very Vintage Greetings. The leaves are from Woodgrain Silhouettes Addition. I went for a bit softer and frillier card with this one.

I hope your week is going well. I'll see you all again soon! :)

Hi bloggies! I'm back for WMSC 61. It's great to be back with the Mischief Makers. When I got back I was absolutely delighted to find out that my friend Chupa is now a Mischief Maker! As well as the very talented Ms. Kim Duran. I follow her blog and just LOVE her style. I can't wait to see what they have for everyone this week. :)

Here's this week's sketch by Ms Sarah Martina Parker.

And here's my sample for this sketch.

For the center panel, I stamped some Ovals - Classic Frames in yellow and black. Then I stamped an image from Cameo Creations right in the center. I inked the edges of the oval so that it would rise above the vintage cream cardstock background. Sentiments from Join Us were added right below the oval, as well as a flourish from Rescue Remedies. Of course it's never complete without my favorite border stamp from Victorian Frippery. It's peeking at the top of the card base and from behind the kraft panel. A flower, ribbon and some buttons were added for contrast. I went for clean and elegant with this card, I hope I achieved it, and that you like it.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll have the chance to join us this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with. And don't forget to check out the other Mischief Makers and the WMS Design Team. See you there! Enjoy your weekend. :)

CASE Study Challenge 53

Hi bloggies I'm back! I would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and well wishes. My mom is safe and back home now. She undergoes physical and occupational therapies 3x a week. The doctor says that she'll be back to normal anywhere from 3-9 months. I'm hoping it's sooner. It's hard to see her so weak like that. :(

I came home with a bad back. It was already hurting a little when I went to the Philippines. I guess carrying my mom didn't help it at all. 'Coz now I have to see my doctor because it's really been killing me. I'm going to have a short post for today and I hope you don't mind. I can't sit long enough because of the pain but if you have questions about the supplies I've used just leave me a message and I'll make sure to answer.

Wow! I can't believe I've been gone a month! It felt foreign when I sat at my craft desk to make a card for CASE Study Challenge 53. This is my first card after weeks of not making any...I guess you could say I'm a little rusty. But I hope you like this! :)

This week we're CASEing our fearless and awesomely talented leader...Ms. Iwona Palamountain! Here's the card I chose to CASE. I just love the colors that Chupa used on this card. And I love how soft and feminine this feels.

Here's my take on this gorgeous card. I chose to CASE her layout. I also combined different stamps from different stamp companies on this one. I hope you like it!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has for you all! Come and play! :) See you there!

New Update

Hi bloggies! Just dropping in for a little update. My mom is in a private room already. The doctors say that she's safe now, and all we have to do is wait. They say that it will take a while before she'll go back to normal. Months of physical therapy and occupational therapy lie ahead. But she'll be going home in a few days. We're all relieved that she's safe now. Thank you for all of your prayers!

I'm going home on August 13th so you'll be hearing from me soon! :)
